  • The Crit went great!
Great in the sense, that I got exactly the conversation I wanted the crits to engage in, the were critical of course, as they should be in that scenario, but the conversation grew to the scale of the entire discourse. A discussion about architecture practice and what other ways architects can make headway into the profession, they enjoyed the graphic novel approach to the project and many of my fellow students engaged in the information. I am going to have to do a second printing of Towards a new Practice because people are already asking.
No word of a lie I was more scared than the last time I could remember, presenting a critque of how architects work (who the entire jury is made up of) who know infinite amounts more about practice than I do, through an entirely foreign medium of representation for me. I was especially delighted when JB came in with a last comment supporting the different method I used to approach thesis.
I am still a few days from getting back to regular posting, as there is still lots of ends to tie up.

With 3 days to go until my master of architecture thesis presentation, I need all the time I can get, so there will not be any posts on here for awhile.
It is a very big moment for me to finish architecture school, it has been very long (2 undergraduate architecture and design degrees and now a masters degree) and it has been an exceptionally trying final semester, but also one of the biggest joys of my life.
I also just wanted to say thank you for all the responses to posts on my thesis project over the last weeks, and all of your posts as well. To say that tumblr is a resource for architecture and design would be barely scratching the surface, it is collection of contributors who look to investigate architecture and design, which has challenged my level of thinking, and hopefully done the same for you.
Bye for a few days and i’ll see you on the other side.
